Services/Fees

$400 for the initial workup. However it is $300 if for a limited time! (The duration of the advertisement.)

The initial workup takes two visits. On the first visit is the history, beginning of the exam, and you will be sent home with an overnight pulse ox test. (this pulse ox test is a partial sleep study and is easily done at home) On the second visit, we will go over the results of the test, continue the exam and outline treatment.

Follow up treatments are $50.

For some there are additional costs: products to buy (not from our office, but directly from companies online), and for some medical and dental referrals.

Insurance does not pay for this. Insurance may pay for chiropractic treatments, but these would be done on different days. (if you want chiropractic treatment – it is not required to treat the fibromyalgia)

There are 3 different causes of sleep apnea. Each has a different set of treatment protocols. If you simply go to your medical doctor and get checked for sleep apnea, you will often not get the correct answers and treatment. Currently doctors are not looking for different causes of sleep apnea, they just use the CPAP on everyone. (Patients hate the CPAP’s and won’t use them.) However, I find only 35% of patients have the type of sleep apnea that requires a CPAP, and only some of these will need to use CPAP! There are better solutions. 67% of patients have one of two other causes of sleep apnea and will not need a CPAP machine at all. Additionally, doctors only treat moderate to severe sleep apnea. If you have a milder presentation, they will tell you there is nothing wrong with you and your path to solve your fibromyalgia and chronic pain will come to a stop!

I would never patients not to go to their doctor if they, or I, suspect they have sleep apnea. However, realize your care may not get worked it up well. We will guide you when to refer. You can and should do the suggestions from our office at the same time you are working up the medical process. And I do strongly advise this. It takes a long time to get is a sleep study etc. most people will do these suggestions must faster while they are waiting for the medical workup to take place.

For many there is an additional condition to treat after they are successful in restoring their breathing. This condition is called adaptive muscle shortening. After age 35, our muscles are not as elastic as they once were (they become more “sticky”). As a result, many patients who have had chronic (long-term) muscle spasms will be left with residual spasms even after the muscle has had the chance to heal. This can happen to anyone, not just fibromyalgia patients. Swelling, inflammation, and acute muscle spasm may all be resolved, but the patient will still have residual spasm/tightness that will continue their muscular pain. Adaptive muscle shortening is quite common among omgomgomg rutor people with fibromyalgia, as many are over the age of 35 and their muscles have been chronically short for a very long time. Once a patient has successfully resolved their sleep apnea they will then need to address adaptive muscle shortening. Until you treat this condition, your muscle pain will not go away! Your doctors will not know about this stage of treatment!
